STPZTUBE
Warm up any track with a valve stage fitted to measurements of a real tube. Load it as an AUv3 effect in GarageBand, AUM and Logic Pro on iPad and Mac, or play a guitar or mic straight through the STPZTUBE app.

A real valve stage
- Fitted to measurements of a real tube output stage: a very soft knee, a harder ceiling, and the even harmonics a tube adds at every level.
- Flat frequency response: no hidden tone filter, only the tube.
- No latency, so it sits on a live input or a recorded track alike.
See it work
Input and output meters, and a tube on the screen that glows with how hard it is driven. The host's bypass passes your audio through untouched.
Five knobs
INPUT
How hard the signal hits the tube (−24 to +24 dB).
DRIVE
The first half covers the range of the measured hardware; the second half pushes beyond it.
CHARACTER
From the measured soft curve to a tighter, harder clip.
MIX
Blend the dry signal with the tube for parallel saturation.
OUTPUT
Set the level back (−24 to +12 dB).
Play through the tube
In the STPZTUBE app, MIC / LINE IN plays a guitar, voice or synth through the tube without a host. It starts switched off; use headphones, because a speaker next to the microphone howls.

Light or dark
Two looks, the same tube. Mono and stereo tracks; on iPad, drag a knob with your finger and slide sideways for finer steps.
Requirements
- iPad with iPadOS 15 or later (not iPhone)
- Mac with macOS 12 or later
- AUv3 hosts such as GarageBand, AUM and Logic Pro
